Common Questions Asked by Buyers

If I see a sign or ad that interests me, who do I call?

Obviously you could call that number. However, to save you time and aggravation, you might be best to have your own buyer agent. Jarmo has MLS computer access to virtually all London listings, regardless of which real estate company. If you've seen a sign or ad, call Jarmo for the details!

Is NOW a good time to buy a home?

London real estate prices have been stable. Interest rates are at historical lows. These 2 factors alone make home ownership very attractive and affordable. It's the only investment that offers lifestyle values like pride, security and comfort.

Will prices go up?

There are no guarantees in real estate or life. However, London's average price was about $50,000 in 1979 and is now in the $240's. History shows real estate is a solid long term investment you can live in!  Check out the Royal LePage Canadian House Price Survey

Is real estate different from other investments?

In a word, yes. Your principal residence is tax free. When you sell in the future, any profit is not subject to capital gains tax. Also, if you work out of your home, you may be entitled to deductions on your income tax. (See your accountant for advice).

Should I consider a new or resale home?

It's really a personal choice. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
